Abigail Hakas

Abigail Hakas was a staff reporter for the newsroom until September 2025. She is now managing editor of the Latrobe Bulletin. Prior, she worked as a political correspondent for Pennsylvania Capital-Star and covered the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting trial for the Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle and Pittsburgh Union Progress. She also served as the opinion editor for Chatham University’s student media outlet, the Communiqué, before graduating in 2024. Stubbornly an eternal yinzer, she has a strong affection for hyperlocal community news coverage.
